The Scarce Thing Is Not Output
Yoni Rechtman and Justin Woodbridge on post-agent companies:
...the post-agent business counter-positions its product, go-to-market, and strategy around that which is still scarce and valuable: context, attention, trust and brand to produce sustainably differentiated outcomes via network effects.
This is the post-industrial playful media problem in one sentence.
Making is already a solved problem. It is still hard, but it is no longer scarce in the same way.
Once production gets even cheaper, making more stuff stops being the interesting bit. The trick becomes creating something with enough context, attention and trust around it that people care and know how to show up for it.
That is why this connects to culturematic chaos containers.
The scarce thing is not output.
It is the container people want to keep returning to.
Or, to borrow Brian Eno's phrase, what quality of interaction it can inspire.
